What a crazy week here in OBX. Hatteras and Okracoke get their power cut off, a Nor'easter blows through and temperatures are all over the place. Luckily, the southern beaches should have power back in the next few days. Here on the northern beaches we survived the Nor'easter with no real damage but the beach time was a bit of a mess. 3 days of red flags means no swimming and northeast winds mean that high tides were all the way up to the dunes in most places. We finally got some comfortable temperatures with the wind shift though. This is the first time in weeks we haven't had hot air blowing in from the west or southwest. East winds mean warmer water and the smell of the ocean, Ahhhh!
